2·28 days agoProbably SMS or in-app 2FA. That’s what annoys me about banks: they claim to do things for security – which in their case it makes sense because they don’t need to harvest data to make money – but then go ahead and roll their own instead of using standards.

13·28 days agoSpecifically, the billionaire promised to host a companywide AI hackathon in July — only to get brutally shut down by workers who were in no mood for such a thing.
lmao how out of touch can one be. “Hey, cheer up, we’ll have fun working 48h straight in July. Did I mention free pizza?”

🤦♂️
I think if you do pacman -S vlc it won’t be orphan anymore though. I removed everything, if I miss something I’ll install it again.

shit, I had 150 orphaned packages
pacman -Qdtq | pacman -Rns -I made an alias for this, but IMO this cleanup should be automatic. The user didn’t install it themselves after all.

10·30 days agoThis administration can’t see a week ahead in front of them. Does anyone have doubts this will only consolidate China’s autonomy and eventual dominance in the sector?

8·1 month agoyeah, that is pretty insane at 17k tokens per second. It feels as if answers are already cached just waiting for you to prompt.
If they manage to fit larger and more recent models in it, it could greatly improve the energy requirements to run these models.
The recent diffusion LLM from google is also really exciting, and I think they might become the new architecture of choice for these models when running on general purpose GPUs - especially consumer cards, which are usually memory constrained, but computing-capable.

2·1 month agoan investment company with ties to the government? shocking
You do what you want with your money, but selecting or not a service based on whether there’s an investment company holding a significant share on it, that happens to donate 30% more to party X over Y is a weird argument. Dig enough and you’ll run out of companies to buy things from.

I don’t think it violates ToS, it’s public data. One can even search for emails directly like this and get millions of matches
https://github.com/search?q=%2F.*%40gmail.com%2F&type=commits
it’s a shitty thing to do, and I wouldn’t want my name or company associated to it, but I don’t think it violates ToS

Even back then, copilot already existed if you didn’t mind choosing one of their models. Cursor was at most 2 months ahead in features, but already charging twice as much as copilot.
