  • “But there have been officials who stated it to news sources.”

And those statements have been made anonymously and without credible evidence to back up the statements. It’s just spin.

Over my career I saw the truth on the ground verses the stuff that came out the mouths of the “officials” they rarely if ever matched reality. Especially when it was a politician talking.

As for the rest of your statement, there is just so much wrong in it I’m not going to spend hours swatting it all down. I’ve made a valid effort to provide some reality to the news spin. I decline to comment further.

  • Wow, what a bunch of double talking assholes.

"KATV reached out to Google asking why the meeting was private, who was involved, and how invitations were determined.

In a statement, the company said:

“Today’s meeting focused on hearing directly from the immediate community. Our goal was to ensure varying neighborhood perspectives were at the table. This is just one conversation out of many. We remain committed to keeping this process open and transparent.”

Google allowed KATV into a separate meeting for about five minutes, but cameras were not permitted inside. Several questions about the process and attendee selection went unanswered."

  • Saved you a click….

"Sheritt has been operating in Cuba for over 30 years, but the Trump administration’s new threats to sanction any foreign business that operates in Cuba resulted in Sherritt announcing it was pulling out of Cuba entirely. But the company swiftly reversed course, announcing it would remain in Cuba. Sherritt had reached an agreement to sell a 55 percent share of its company at a discounted rate to Gillon Capital LLC, a financial office for the Washburne family, one of whose members, Ray Washburne, was appointed by Trump in his first term to head the Overseas Private Investment Corporation. In other words: companies that do business in Cuba have to shut down, unless they are sold for bargain basement prices to Trump cronies. The goal of handing public assets to private companies is in no way disguised. Politico reports that Cuba has been under pressure to “make serious economic reforms” such as “privatizing many state assets” and “allowing more foreign investment.”

    Colonialism is so last century.

Now it’s all about economic exploitation, backed by the threat of military force and covert manipulation of local government. It’s a much more efficient and cost effective. And when everything of value has been exploited, you can just walk away claiming they were never a colony and it’s not your problem.
