Women cannot control whether they get pregnant or not. No birth control is 100% effective. Even the high percentages you see are ‘perfect use’ and mean for every 100 women, 10 women actually get pregnant with ‘typical use’ while using their birth control (Source). The higher effective ones are things like the IUD and arm implant, devices that are expensive and come with their own risks but are also not 100% effective; although they’re the closest you can get. Women have all sorts of reasons for picking their chosen birth control, some cannot handle hormones at all. Even I’ve been wrecked by various birth controls. You are effectively saying sex is only for procreation and nothing else.

This AN admin banned a single LW admin for zionism, and the LW admins were so mad that they defederated from AN without talking, made censures against the AN instance, and encouraged other instances to also defederate AN by claiming the act of a single ban of an LW admin was equal to a death threat. All without talking. Said user stepped down as admin from AN and things are very tense since LW thinks their behavior is acceptable. The LW admins could have banned the previous AN admin (or talked about it), but they defederated the AN instance instead, an instance with multiple admins and many users.

The lounge just has things like a sofa, tv, a red light treatment thing, automatic massage table/chairs, stuff like that. It is completely avoidable. I’m a dummy who signed up for it for the automatic massage stuff, and it was usually broken/malfunctioning when I used it >.<

I went through something similar while trying to cancel, only instead of a vacation it was somewhere I completely moved to that no longer had planet fitness. Going back and forward with the gym via phone and then letters went nowhere. I finally put a stop on my debit card to end things. I heard they go after people in court or collections at that point, but I was never contacted again about it.

It has been a hot minute for me, but I think the lower $10/month gave you access to everything but their stupid lounge reserved for the higher $20/month tier. You could cancel the $10 anytime but not the $20 tier without paying an extra buyout fee. Also looks like it was increased from $10 to $15 in 2024.

I moved to a place without planet fitness and it was hell cancelling the higher tier since they insisted you couldn’t cancel over the internet or phone, only via certified mail, and even then they kept losing my letter. The gyms around me start at $40/month so I do not go to the gym anymore.

The creator did go through an unplanned pregnancy and miscarriage with an ex-girlfriend in college. The relationship was toxic according to him and this happened years before loss was published.
