The name of the song apparently came about because organist/vocalist/songwriter Doug Ingle, thoroughly drunk, slurred the words “in the Garden of Eden” badly when playing the newly written piece for drummer Ron Bushy, who was jotting the lyrics down.
Finally, some good fucking bassy psychedelia. Has some of the feel of Sun Araw’s viscous and smoky tracks from the green-colored quasi tetralogy of EPs.
FYI: you might’ve intended to attach the link to the track — but Lemmy, at least with the default UI, replaces the link when an image is provided, so it’s not posted. Allegedly it can store both a link and an image, but various major apps don’t support that anyway.

Also, feels like this track might’ve been an influence on Animal Collective. Or maybe I’m dejavuing because of some other band, even though I’ve heard ‘My White Bicycle’ before.
That’s a very questionable mix, what with the muddy mids and piercing highs. I prefer this one, and I think other ones might be even better, but Youtube is currently flaking on me.
Slight correction: according to Discogs, Not This Time’ and ‘Freedom’ were included on some editions of ‘The Live Experience’ as a single, for a preview of the upcoming album. So technically they’re still new here.
‘VIII’ has now appeared on Discogs, but doesn’t provide any writing credits even for ‘Everything’s Gonna Be Alright’.
Six of them apparently. Not commonplace in the 2000s, but was a regular sight in the 60s. Bowie’s first two albums, released two years apart, are both called ‘David Bowie’.
From a comment on a pirate forum (of all places): seems that ‘Sempire Deo’ and ‘Time for the Braves’ are versions of old songs ‘Don’t U’ and ‘The Champions’ respectively. ‘Not This Time’ and ‘Freedom’ were on the 2022 ‘The Live Experience’. So only ‘The Fallen King’, ‘Will You Call My Name’ and ‘Not You Again’ are fully new songs.
Is it an album of covers? Because it feels like I’m listening to a bunch of 90s hits. The Bandcamp page doesn’t say anything about it, and the album isn’t on Discogs, so idk if there’s any info on the matter.
In a similar vein, the single version of ‘Come Together’ is completely different from the album version, with the latter having been mixed by Weatherall and omitting all of Bobby Gillespie’s vocals.
Btw, this is actually a remix of another song of theirs, ‘I’m Losing More Than I’ll Ever Have’. Remixed by Andrew Weatherall, who later produced their album ‘Screamadelica’ and was in ‘The Sabres of Paradise’. Barely anything of the original song is in the remix.

You know that people choose what to listen to, based on stuff that they’re vaguely interested in? Make it up that your music is rap, and I won’t ever play your music except by mistake.
And before you label me as ‘set in my ways’, it’s evident right in this community more than anywhere else that I listen to more outlandish stuff than the majority of people. But I don’t give a shit about rap and never will.
Originally recorded separately by Brenda Lee and Gwen McCrae almost at the same time, as was tradition back then, and made popular by Elvis Presley. But personally I’m fond of the version by Pet Shop Boys.
I really need to find some decent backup solution for the lot of it.
After my share of run-ins with dead drives and disappearing YouTube videos, I just switched to keeping my ‘collection’ in my notes, with links to a service that works at the moment. And since I’m into outliner notes with some extra features, it’s all categorized with a hierarchy and tags, and annotated if I have any useful info. The notes are synced between desktop machines and the phone, and I’ll probably cook up some extra backups too.
This approach lived through three different operating systems, without me needing to migrate any big file collections for it.
Eh, the thread is basically for anyone interested, like I’m gonna refresh my collection with your list: I’ve listened to some of those fifteen years ago or so, and forgot about them when my hard drives kicked the bucket. Also, I’ve sometimes received replies from the author of such a thread weeks if not months later.
I’ve been a fan of Laswell since mid-2000s, it took me about five years to go through most of his discography, and I still missed some of it. Some poor soul uploaded over two hundred of his releases on Bandcamp starting in 2016, which of course was a cause of huge joy for me, since I love Bandcamp too. Anyway, Laswell was shoving dub-ambient into basically any of his work starting around mid-late nineties. It’s also funny to see how he influenced some of the big flock of people with whom he collaborated: e.g. Eraldo Bernocchi had his own ambient project, released around four records, then did the Equations of Eternity project with Laswell and Mick Harris (of Napalm Death and Scorn), and since then all his ambienty projects sounded like Laswell’s approach and library of effects.
I also mentioned a few select tunes in this comment, particularly regarding Echotourism and Shalash.
Well, I sure hope the ones I mentioned aren’t quite household names, other than Eno’s opus for Windows 95.
Basically the invention of stoner rock, together with The Beatles’s ‘I Want You (She’s So Heavy)’, and of course Black Sabbath’s ‘Electric Funeral’ and whatnot.
