  • I cut the umbilical cord of my daughter. One would think that it is a special situation, physically separating the mother from the child.

… But she had already passed the placenta, so the cut was really just separating my newborn baby from a nasty blob covered in blood and goo on a tray next to her.

  • I was at an event where we were told that some locally famous guy would tell us a story about when he discovered a murder scene.

When the event came around, it turned out that the guy wasn’t going to show up, but what they had prepared was a voice recording of the story. Also, the story was 40 minutes long. 40 minutes at an event with everyone in silence - no chit chat during the story.

I mean, it was a good story, but it seemed like a lot of wasted time for an event where we could have gotten to know eachother better.

  • Unless more documents are released, there isn’t really much more to go by. She made some poor judgements of what person she was dealing with, but it didn’t seem like she was guilty to anything illegal. A lot of organizations which had her as a member of honor have recalled her membership. A lot of trust has been lost, and polls have shifted a bit towards abolishing the current monarchy.

But it’s hardly a topic now. The crown princess is currently dealing with pulmonary fibrosis and requires a lung transplant. So the focus has shifted a lot recently.

  • My experience is from Norwegian shops, so it might differ from the standards in elsewhere.

    • item won’t scan: very rarely an issue. We can put in the bar code numbers manually if needed.
    • you have alcohol: a nearby staff will take a quick glimpse at me and will approve the age from their unit. Only people close to the age limit will have to wait for the staff.
    • discount stickers in shops here have the updated price on a barcode on that sticker.
    • I don’t understand the “2 upcs”-issue.
    • accidental scans can be corrected by the user without staff involvement.

  • Right click > more options (which summons a whole new menu) > copy > close the file explorer > open a new file explorer > navigate to desired folder > right click > paste > realize that the “copy”-button was misclicked and the clipboard is empty > close file explorer > open new file explorer > navigate to original file > repeat.

    I watch this loop twice.
