Isn’t the protag Ash, and that’s the villain? I only know this game from niche videos on Youtube about how broken he becomes if you do his sidequest.

I was intially impressed by more unique animations, like the Marie cutscene, but on closer look it still looks mediocre. It’s the bare minimum above P3R, which actually cut animations from the original.

I’m fine with it being filler. You shouldn’t and don’t need to buy it if you don’t want it, but the kids who need post-P5 QoL will buy it so Atlus gets more money for other games.

…the only problem being, “what other games?” P6 is the only big game since the end of 2024, and it’ll be very late 2027 probably…

I’m converting to physicals now that I realised, I’m probably never going to replay 90% of my games.

I’m planning to sell most of my 3DS games because I didn’t like them enough to replay besides two, yet enjoyed them enough/know what the deal is when people discuss them that buying was worth it. Now I can hopefully get half of my cash back (and I already bought them used!) once I find the time and energy to look for buyers. Don’t know how much pawn shops take.

You might even try to buy new games and just sell them after finishing (unless you love them), but I have enough of a backlog already…

In this anti-subscription context, it’s nice, but for me the main point of physicals is reselling. GOG just like Steam and others benefits from the fact you can’t get your money back, and you have to buy from them.

Any other cases? Borderlands 2 comes to mind, its sequel marketing DLC was even free on release

Toby Fox was a wise man for getting rid of that shit, and OMORI taught me that they can hamper the experience, because now I know I missed out on feeding a cat fish on day 1. Even on Steam, I don’t like the game’s profile taunting me every time I look at it - can you turn that off?

Never had that problem playing Nintendo games besides the occassional in-game achievement lists, which are easier to ignore. Just give me a piss-colored title screen as a completion reward. Wouldn’t even know about it without the Internet.

And then there’s fans like me who like when magic goes pew pew and big sword with 40 STR go blam. I just like how active combat and magic system is, as well as stat minmaxing - you can make the games into cakewalks if you learn how they work. Before I found Dark Souls 2 I played Skyrim as a kid because it’s what everyone talked about, and its combat is so dogshit in retrospect.

It felt like the sarcasm referred mostly to the “hard to render” part, not the “high-poly LEGO” part, hence the confusion I think

I’ll play devil’s advocate and say the brain has to be portable enough for the animal containing it to move, and also has a chunk of itself dedicated to hormones telling us what to do to survive, instead of just working on information. It also won’t ask for payment or time off, because the closest thing to pain for it is giving wrong answers.

On the other hand, since the only motivator is it’s digitial equivalent of dopamine, AGI could just hack itself into getting an infinite supply of it. Which would be funny - the first thing it would do being metaphorically jerking off all day.

For me it was mostly Dark Souls 2 critique, but I got the feeling other people also disliked his attitude in other videos, at least the game related ones.

This is great, but a new dilemma for me. I’ve been waiting for Steam Machine because I really want the small size and easy moving between TV and desk, compared to normal PCs. (Performance could go either way, I’m plenty satisfied with HD but also do have a 4k TV to use)

But I’m not actually sure precisely HOW small I want my gaming box to be. It seems like this’d be just a bit too clunky for me compared to the cube, but if Valve time pushes SM into 2027 I might just cave in, it still seems more convenient than most desktops I saw.

If it ends up running well on AYN Thor I might finally upgrade from my 3DS, but one of the only videos I saw tried running Hi-Fi Rush and it didn’t launch, all the other examples were indies which I assume are playable anyway.
