Just cause lots of people call something X, doesnt mean its X.
Otherwise Trump would be a literal god. And web forums would actually be social media.

First of all, Don’t blatantly lie about the very thing you are linking to. It is not listed as social media.
They simply say some people (mostly idiots) refer to it as social media.
So thats already points on you for intentionally and willfully misrepresenting information.
Also the entire article is bunk cause it calls Mozilla and Minecraft social media. Which is stupid. Because Mozilla is a fucking company that makes a browser, and Minecraft is a goddamn game.
Second of all, You can wrongly refer to something as social media all you want.
I can write Fuck You on a brick and throw it through your window, and just because I Call it Macaroni refer to it as social media, doesnt magically make it social media.

I mean if people can figure out bot accounts and make lists of them just by looking at them, I’m pretty sure the companies that see 25000 accounts all connect from the same IP address can figure it out.

I think he would have been more clear on his intention if he used “and” instead of “/” in separating the two

Yeah, I’m sharing my own personal anecdote backing up your statement.

They’re the absolute most boring, plain and lazy in the bedroom, and they also tend to have fairly to extremely serious mental/personality disorders/problems.
I encountered a woman once that talked about how freaky she was in bed, in a way that openly encouraged investigation.
Investigation commenced.
Turns out her idea of bein freaky was Doggy Style.

Its a webforum, not a social media.
Social media is places that revolve around shit in your real life no one cares about. Facebook, Instagram,Tiktok,Etc.

and a large part of that is the up/down vote systems, and other gamifications of human interaction.
And they’ve spread out of social media into many other website types.
All it does is extremify human interaction and is a major component in why we’re at the point we are right now with right wing extremism and fascism on the rise.
Get rid of these systems, and let people just communicate with eachother without having to appeal to a hive mind to tell people who gave up thinking if somethings good or bad based on votes/reactions/etc

No it wouldnt. It’d be a .001% reduction in users.
If you want social media to become a ghost town, ban bots/AI

Why the fuck you going at me with both guns drawn when all I did was explain, factually and neutrally, about how VAC works and why you see bans happen in waves instead of in the moment?
People like this (the guy in the topic, not you, Escape) are the kind of people to unironically say that liking women is gay.
So its 100% for the boys to think he’s a pretty pretty princess.

I’m glad i’m not the only one to recognize the abject awfulness of a woman saying that, of all people.

yeah.
I feel the same way about all my 1st and 2nd gen pokemon games, open, but complete in box.
I’ll probably never play the physical games again, since emulation is so much easier (and eats less batteries)…but on the otherhand, they are childhood memories and its not something i want to hand over to some greedy fuckwit whose just gonna sit on them for 6 months and flip them for 30% profit.

VAC doesnt immediately ban when a cheat is detected, It delays the ban to make it harder for cheat makers to figure out what, when, how, and why it was detected.
Yeah, that was towards the end of windows life, after win10s release… and it was added as a windows update package, and as a result was easily uninstallable.
and every news article i saw informing people about the telemetry update, also told people how to uninstall it

What wata nonsense?
The I dont really follow physical retrogaming, outside of seeing games I missed as a kid in used game stores and wanting to play them… but not being able to because its being sold for 200 dollars for a bare cart with sharpie across the back and i dont care if I have President Bribing money, I aint paying 200 dollars for that shit.

Yeah, I didnt even know until just now that there was a retail package release of Super Mario Bros, by itself, without duckhunt.
cause I thought it was just a packin game with the nes.
I can see why its rare, but its stupid that someone paid 3 million for it.
Windows 7 was the peak. everything since has been a decline.
Windows 7 was the first Windows OS that didnt require constant reboots, didnt require regular reformat/reinstalls to fix random over time slowdowns/degredation/crashes/etc.
Windows 7 had a relatively light weight, and very easy to use interface.
Windows 7 was the last Windows OS that you actually owned when you bought it.
Every OS after Windows 7 was centered on taking control and usability away from the owner/user.

I hope we get absolutely no solution for it.
We don’t need kernel level anti-cheat.
We never have. We never will. We didnt need it on windows, and we dont need it on Linux
The fact that there are wildly popular games out there, that don’t use it, that successfully control cheating to a level that you barely experience/see it, is proof of that… its not only proof of it, it should be the absolute entropic death of the goddamn topic.
The only reason to want a kernel level anticheat is so they can poke around in everything you do and send it all home. They get to police their game… They don’t get to police and monitor my whole fucking life and everything I do on my computer.
If I wanted big brother monitoring everything I do and sending it all back home, I’d be using Windows 11.
Any company that says they need this for their game is lying, and deserves bankruptcy and death.
Figured as much, was just making sure my position was clear. Have a good one :D
