Cadillac is considering dropping Valtteri Bottas from its Formula 1 team with its test driver and current Formula 2 hopeful Colton Herta in the frame to replace him, according to reports.

    Maybe next year but I still feel Bottas + Checo is their best bet through this season. Cadillac isn’t winning races, they need experienced drivers that can provide nuanced feedback and improve basic processes.

      That is true, but on the other hand I think they want/need to see what they have in Herta to decide the future of the driver lineup. Bottas and Checo were always experienced stop gaps while the team developed. Why not pull one of them back to test driver for that feedback, while taking time to evaluate the young guy you have sitting in the wings?

      I’m very curious to see how Herta performs in an F1 car

        Well, I’ve learned Herta doesn’t have a super license yet so no chance he’s on track this year. But I definitely support getting him behind the wheel! He should have been racing with Alfa Romeo while Vasseur was still there, he’s gonna get his break at some point
